This performance video explores the duality of self through the interaction between a person and their shadow. Beginning as a simple dance, it evolves into a deliberate dialogue between two interconnected parts of one body—one that remains present, and one that drifts away.
Made to be projected onto fabric, the shifting shadows add a tactile dimension, enhancing the tension between presence and absence.
The piece is intentionally silent and designed to loop, emphasizing continuous movement without a defined beginning or end. The shadow alternately merges with and separates from the figure, reflecting the fragile balance between light and dark, presence and loss.
This work investigates identity as layered and fluid, illustrating how the self can simultaneously hold stability and transformation. Through slow, repetitive movement, it invites viewers into a meditative space where the relationship between body and shadow embodies an ongoing negotiation of identity.
